CUMNOR CRUISE INTO THE QUARTER FINALS.

Cumnor were taking a break from league football and Crowmarsh were our opponents. League form has been good but Cumnor have earned themselves a reputation for being a difficult team to beat in the cup over the last couple of years.
Cumnor had more of the play in the first minutes but Crowmarsh were looking very dangerous on the break. The Crowmarsh goalie made a couple of early saves. Tim at the other end had to make a couple of good stops. As a new addition to the services that Cumnor offer, Tim now does a up to date live match commentary of our game during the match. So if you do miss anything, Tim will fill in any gaps for you.
A breakthrough had to come and it came from Cumnor. Shaun won the ball in midfield. He passed to Biggy. Biggy moved forward and slipped the ball to Freddie. Freddie rounded the defender and slipped the ball into the net. It was 1-0. Fraser tackled well in midfield. The ball found Ryan. Ryan controlled well and fired the ball into the net. A great goal. At the other end, Henry made a great tackle to stop a Crowmarsh attack. Alex was covering well at the back and had to use his strength to win the ball from the Crowmarsh attacker. Robbie was enjoying himself with some great runs.
Mark cleared the ball up the left hand side. It was controlled by Biggy who found Ryan. Ryan again hit a great shot into the corner. It was 3-0 to Cumnor.
The first half finished 3-0 to Cumnor.
Crowmarsh started the 2nd half well. Within minutes a mix up in defence allowed Crowmarsh in to make it 3-1. Suddenly it was a cup tie. Crowmarsh were looking dangerous and Robbie had to be quick of his line on a couple of occasions. Ollie made some great tackles.
At the other end, Fraser made a great run and fired in the fourth goal to ease Cumnor's nerves.
Shaun won the ball in midfield and found Harri. Harri tapped the ball into the net. It was 5-1.
Biggy, not to be outdone, scored the 6th goal with a close range stop. Probably the best goal, came from a 20 yard shot which gave the goalie no chance. Tim was making runs forward and probing the Crowmarsh defence.
Harri took a corner which was met by Henry and he fired it into the net. It was 8-1.
With minutes to go the ball was fired into the penalty area by Alex. The ball landed with Sam. Sam was facing the wrong way but turned on a sixpence and slammed the ball into the back of the net. The goalie had no chance.
The game finished 9-1.

CUMNOR MINORS 9 CROWMARSH 1

MAN OF THE MATCH: MARK BRIGGS--a very controlled performance.

A great game against a good Crowmarsh side. Next week we play Didcot Casuals who will be looking for revenge after their defeat at the start of the season.
