On a wet and windy Sunday morning, Cumnor crashed out of the cup. Radley booked their place in the final.
Cumnor were in charge in the first half and it came as no surprise when Freddie fired in a great shot to make it 1-0 to Cumnor.
In the second half, 4 goals scored by Radley finished Cumnor off. Shaun scored but the goal was ruled off-side.
Final Score:
RADLEY 4 CUMNOR MINORS 1
A disappointing end to a game which started so well. Cumnor never stopped trying and were unlucky not to be further ahead at half-time.

CHOLSEY CAN'T STOP CUMNOR.
Cumnor were visiting Cholsey on a day that started with bad news and ended with bad news. Before the game, it was announced that our top scorer, Daniel Bigden, had signed for Wycombe Wanderers. Dave tried valiantly with a last minute financial package to keep him at Cumnor. Unfortunately, Dave's offer for Kev to clean Biggy's parents' car and to do any other household chores was last night described by Martin, Biggy's uncle, as an insult. Martin said " We wanted to stay but Dave's offer showed us a lack of respect. Anyone knows that Kev hasn't cleaned his own car in the last couple of years never mind any other car"
As the offer has caused unrest with the rest of the squad, Dave feels it is only right that the same package is offered to all the other boys. Kev's hoping to fit in the car washing before home games!
Cumnor started in total control. Ryan was looking dangerous and was spraying some nice passes about. Luke had a great run but delayed his shot and it was deflected for a corner. Harri's corner landed right in the box but both Freddie and Ben failed to covert. At the other end, Cholsey came close with a great shot but it just went by the post. Robbie had to be quick off his line to collect a through ball. Henry stopped a Cholsey attack. He found Ryan. Ryan moved past his opponent and flighted a great ball to Fraser. Fraser latched onto the ball and moved towards the Cholsey goal. As the goalie raced out, Fraser slid the ball into the net. A great goal. Minutes later another beautiful ball from Ryan, landed at Shaun's feet. He raced towards the goal and fired the ball into the net. It was 2-0 to Cumnor. Luke had another opportunity but the goalie saved well. The first half finished 2-0 to Cumnor.
In the second half, Cumnor pushed forward. Another attack saw Mark with a rare opportunity to fire a shot at the goal but the ball was blocked. Alex covered well at the back and looked very comfortable. Another Harri ball found Henry. Henry, who had been moved into midfield, hit an unstoppable shot into the net. At the other end, Tim made a great safe but seconds later he was beaten by a great shot. It was 3-1.
At the other end, a pass from Fraser was chased own by Freddie. As he stretched for the ball, the goalie dived for the ball. Freddie stayed down and, after a few minutes, was carried off.
Ollie played a long ball up into the box and Shaun latched onto the ball and hit the back of the net with a great shot. It was 4-1.
Robbie made a great interception at the back to stop a dangerous attack.
Sam won the ball in midfield and passed to Fraser. Fraser fired in a great cross but the ball was headered in by a Cholsey player. It was 5-1. Cholsey grabbed another goal but Cumnor were not finished. A great ball from Ben, found Shaun who tried to lift the ball over the head of the goalkeeper. The goalie made a great save and pushed the ball onto the bar. As the ball came down, Harri slammed the ball into the net from close range. Shaun wanted to claim his hat-trick but Harri got the last touch.
The game finished at 6-2 to Cumnor
CHOLSEY 2 CUMNOR 6
MAN OF THE MATCH:ALEX GRANTHAM
Freddie was carried but hopefully will be back for the cup.
The biggest game of the season approaches on Sunday. If everybody plays to the best of their ability Cumnor will have too much for Radley.
Dave has decided to have a training session on Saturday at the Closes at 10.00.

CUMNOR ON FORM
Quarry were the visitors to The Closes on a lovely Sunday morning. The last time the teams met produced an exciting cup tie. Dave changed the side around to give everybody a chance to impress before the semi-final in 2 weeks.
Cumnor started very brightly and it seemed only a matter of time before somebody put the ball in the net. Luke and Fraser were linking up well and created an opening for Biggy who just shot wide. Sam was making some great passes and opened the defence up for Luke but Luke hit the post. A through ball found Shaun. He raced in on goal but was tackled just when he was going to pull the trigger. Harri tried a shot but it just went wide. Finally the goal came. Good work by Shaun found Biggy and he fired the ball home for the first goal. Almost immediately, Luke made it 2-0 with a lovely shot.
Suddenly Quarry came alive. Mark had to be at his sharpest to push the ball out for a throw in. The ball was pushed into the box. After some nice passing the Quarry attacker shot. Robbie had the ball covered but it took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net. Henry was at his best to stop Quarry equalising with a great tackle. Ollie covered well to stop another Quarry attack. At the other end, Ryan won the ball and found Luke who slipped the ball into the net to make it 3-1. The referee blew for half time.
The second half saw near misses for Freddie and Biggy. Shaun was working tirelessly on the right hand side. Ryan, having an impressive game, released Freddie with a great ball but he slipped the ball past the post. Alex controlled the ball after a Quarry attack. He found Fraser with a through ball. Fraser raced forward and fired a great shot. The goalie made a great save but the ball landed at Freddie's feet. Freddie took his time and slipped the ball into the net.
A corner from Biggy landed in the box. Ben pounced on the ball and fired the ball towards the goal but the ball was cleared. At the other end, the Quarry attacker fired the ball to the back of the net. Tim rose and punched the ball clear. What a save.
At the other end, Shaun found Biggy with a great pass. Biggy raced in on the goalie and slipped the ball into the net. It was 5-1 to Cumnor.
Near the end Robbie made another great tackle.
The game was now over as a contest and not many more chances appeared at either end.
The referee blew his whistle and the game was over.
Cumnor Minors 5 Quarry 1
MAN OF THE MATCH:HENRY GORDON.
Another great display which gives us confidence for the future. Dave has great hope that we can win the semi-final and become winners of the cup. As you know, Dave is an Arsenal fan and it seems that this will be his only chance of silverware this season. Kev has recovered from his career threatening injury and says he will be able to play football again. That seems strange as he could never play it before!
