Cumnor came back after last weeks defeat with a comfortable victory over Marston. The boy's were keen to forget about last week and get back into winning ways. Dave had almost a full side with the exception of Alex who was on holiday. Fortunately, Shaun arrived at the right venue and at the right time.
Marston started well and had most of the early play. Robbie had to make a few early clearances. Cumnor very slowly worked their way into the game. Bradley forced the goalie to make a save. Harri tried a long shot but it just went past. Fraser forced a corner on the left hand side. Harri took the corner and it was cleared to Fraser. He crossed the ball and Shaun slammed the ball into the net. It was 1-0.
Freddie and Mark were having a busy day as some good passing from Marston was putting the defence under pressure. A long shot from distance which went by the post was the nearest Marston got to scoring in the first half.
Ben was using his strength to control midfield.
Luke and Harri linked up well to give Bradley an opportunity but the goalie saved well. Cumnor ended the first half in the driving seat.
The second half started with Cumnor attacking. Henry broke up an attack and passed to Kieran. He found Fraser but his hot went wide. At the other end, a great shot from a Marston attacker hit the bar. Tim had no chance but the ball went over.
Cumnor made it 2 with a bizare goal. A header from Shaun was edged on towards goal from Luke. The goalie saved the shot but the ball spun out of his hands into the net.
Nathan then made a great interception and the ball was pushed wide. It was crossed in and Shaun made it 3-0 with a fantastic header.
Fraser hit the bar but the game finished 3-0.
CUMNOR MINORS 3 MARSTON SAINTS 0
MAN OF THE MATCH: BRADLEY.
A good victory. Shaun just missed out on a hat-trick. Dave asked the boys who scored the second and the majority gave the goal to Luke.
Next week we play St Edmunds in the cup. The St Edmund's manager watched todays game. Hopefully it will be a fantastic game next week but with a different scoreline from the last time.
