BRADLEY AND SHAUN FIRE CUMNOR INTO THEIR SECOND CUP FINAL
The Oxford Mail Cup Final awaited the winners of today's game. Cumnor had not played Henley before so it was a new experience for both sides. Cumnor had everybody available apart from Nathan. Cumnor's coaching staff looked very nervous.
The game started with Henley attacking. It came obvious that Henley had a couple of very fast forwards and they were told to chase the long ball. Alex was in great form and his quickness was being tested by some long balls from the Henley midfield. Kieran was his usual solid self and made some great stops. It was taking time for Cumnor to find their feet. Freddie put a through ball to Fraser. He raced on and as he approached the penalty area fired a great shot just over the bar. Bradley broke through after a through ball from Luke. Unfortunately the goalie was quick of his line and cleared the danger.Ben and Harri linked up well but the shot was just over the bar.
At the other end, Robbie did not have any saves to make but had to be very quick of the line to make some clearances. It was beginning to look like one goal could decide the game. With seconds to go in the first half, Cumnor took the lead. A through ball from Luke split the defence. Shaun was very alert and was first to the ball. He took one touch and flicked the ball over the goalie and it landed in the back of the net. It was 1-0. The referee blew for half time.
Cumnor came out in the second half more relaxed. Mark made a great tackle and passed the ball forward. Robbie controlled the ball and set Luke free. Luke crossed but the goalie saved. Harri fired in a couple of corners but Cumnor could not convert any chances.
Tim had very little to do but had to be alert to the through ball.
Fraser won the ball and pushed the ball to Bradley. He set of in a great run. As he entered the box, the goalie came out to meet him. Bradley calmly dragged the ball wide past the goalie and slipped the ball into the net. A great goal!
Henley did not give up. Freddie made a great last gasp tackle to stop a shot on goal. Kieran made a last gasp clearance to stop another chance.
The referee checked his watch and blew for full time.
HENLEY AFC 0 CUMNOR MINORS 2
MEN OF THE MATCH:BRADLEY AND SHAUN.
A great achievement by the boys. Another cup final as Cumnor's fixture congestion worsens. The final is on the 10th may and , yet again, we have to cancel the game against Rotherfield. They might think that we don't want to play them.

Cumnor had the slope and the wind in the second half, but it was Didcot who started better. Didcot might have taken a further lead if it were not for a great save by Tim. He saved well at his near post.
Cumnor were now taking control. Kieran had a long range free kick just go over. Another free kick just shaved the post.
Cumnor got a deserved equaliser from Luke. The ball was racing about the Didcot defence like a pinball machine. Luke managed to get his foot on the ball and directed the ball into the net. It was 2-2.

CUMNOR MAKE THEIR FIRST CUP FINAL IN 2 YEARS AS DAVE TRIES OUT NEW CROWD CONTROL MEASURES
Cumnor scored a last minute goal to make the B&B Cup final. In a thrilling semi-final, Cumnor booked their place in the final with a great opportunist goal by Luke.
Before the game, Dave, to take his mind off thinking about tactics was trying out new crowd control measures. Obviously, unruly parents are a big problem at Cumnor and Dave concocted a barrier system to keep the supporters back. Whether it was a success or not depends on who you talk to. A no might come from the people who took three hours to take the barrier down after the game. Mind you it would be a shame if the barriers went missing and were never seen again!
Bourne End started the brighter with some nice passing moves. Cumnor's defence was adjusting to life without Henry. Alex moved into the centre of defence and looked like he had always been there. Cumnor were starting to cope with some very nippy attackers. It was no surprise when Bourne End took the lead with a slick move which finished with a fantastic goal which gave Robbie no chance.
Cumnor started to look dangerous. A fantastic shot from Fraser was just over the bar. Mark made a great through ball to Bradley but he was tackled before he could shoot. Kieran's head was stopping a lot of through balls. Ben was spraying passes down the wings to start numerous attacks. Shaun and Luke were starting to control the midfield. Fraser picked a ball up from Freddie and raced up the right hand side. His cross was forced for a corner. Harri took the corner and Shaun rose above the defence and fired in a great header. It was 1-1.
Harri twisted his knee and was replaced by Dan.
The whistle was blown for half time.
The second half started with Bourne End looking very dangerous. Kieran and Alex both made great tackles to keep the score at 1-1. At the other end, a great header from Fraser hit the bar and went over. Suddenly Cumnor were on top. Dan hit the bar with a great shot. There were goalmouth scrambles galore. Bradley never stopped harassing the Bourne End defence. They were getting pretty fed up with him. Luke and Shaun nearly scored. The Bourne End goal seemed to be having a charmed life. The Bourne End goalie was in amazing form. Fraser hit a shot from 15 yards which was goal bound but the goalie made a great save. At the other end, the Bourne End No 20 was making a nuisance of himself. His skills were starting to have an effect, and only 2 great saves from Tim stopped him scoring.
A great clearance from Kieran was forced out for a throw. For the first time in the game the Bourne End defence lost their concentration. Fraser threw it to Luke. He swivelled round and fired it first time into the net. What a goal!
Bourne End pressed for an equaliser which would take the game into extra-time. Robbie made a great tackle on the left. The referee looked at his watch and blew for full time. What a game!
A great cup tie played in a great spirit. Hard luck Bourne End but well done Cumnor.
