CUMNOR COME OUT ON TOP OF DOUBLE HEADER

Dave, concerned that we had not played much football, arranged two games on one day. Our first opponents were Brackley Town. Reports indicated that this was a good side who would be a real challenge.
The boys looked a bit rusty but soon started to play some attractive football. Our defence is now becoming very solid. Brackley had the better of the first five minutes. Alex and Jordi had to be quick to stop attacks on the wings. Wrighty and Kieren are forming a great partnership. Cumnor soon took control and dominated the game. Freddie and Bradley linked up and Bradley finished with a great shot. Fraser came close with a great shot. Luke was having a real battle in midfield with his opposite number. A couple of crunching tackles kept Cumnor on top in midfield.
At the other end, Robbie had little to do but had to be quick of his line for a clearance.
The first half finished 1-0.
Cumnor scored twice in the second half. A through ball from Ben found Bradley who calmly slipped the ball over the goalie. Then Fraser won the ball and slipped the ball to Freddie. He turned and put the ball into the back of the net. Tim made a couple of clearances but had a quiet afternoon.

In the second game we played Abingdon Colts. Cumnor took the lead through a lovely goal from Harri. Abingdon replied with an equaliser within a minute. Mark broke up an Abingdon attack. Cumnor then swept forward and Adam scored with a great shot.
The second half ended a stalemate. Both sides had chances.
The game finished 2-1
