BRADLEY HITS FOUR AS CUMNOR MAKE THE NEXT ROUND OF THE CUP
Thatcham Town Harriers were our opponents in the first round of the B&B Cup.
After the 10 man heroics of last week we actually had a substitute today. With Harri and Alex back for our next games we will nearly be back to full strength. Tim has his pins out next week and will be back after Xmas. Luke W is still under trial at Oxford.
Cumnor started well with Bradley full of energy. It was little surprise, when Bradley opened the scoring. It was a great goal. He controlled the ball and with his back facing away from the goal he kicked the ball over his head into the net. It was 1-0.
Thatcham started to explore attacking options. Kieren as ever made his presence felt with some great tackles. Robbie had to make a save from a shot from distance. Adam was making his presence felt on the left. He linked up with the ever impressive Joe. A interchange of passes between them set up Bradley who made it 2-0 with a great shot.
Supposedly Stuart, Bradley's dad had offered a financial incentive for a hat-trick. A great move between Shaun and Luke T set up Bradley who made it 3-o.
The best move of the first half involved a couple of passes between Freddie,Bradley and Shaun which released Fraser who made no mistake with a great finish.
The first half finished 4-0.
Luke W came on for Luke T. Luke T had suffered an injury and was rested for the second half.
Thatcham came out fighting in the second half. They started to pressure the Cumnor defence. Wrighty had to make a couple of great tackles. Luke W was starting to stamp his presence on the game. Adam was having a great game. Luke and Adam linked up in the middle of the park.
Shaun was keen to score and he eventually scored with a lovely shot. Cumnor were playing some great football.
Another great move involving Luke, Fraser and Jordi ended up with Jordi firing a shot at goal from 30 yards. It just went over the bar.
Freddie made it 6 after Bradley had released him.
Bradley made it 7 with a great finish. Luke scored a fantastic goal from an impossible angle to make it 8.
The referee blew his whistle for full time.
CUMNOR MINORS 8 THATCHAM TOWN HARRIERS 0
A great performance from Cumnor. Some of the football was fantastic. It was a pleasure to watch. Thatcham competed well but we excelled on the day. They were great opponents and played the game in a sporting fashion.
Next Sunday we will have a deserved break. Training will continue during half term.

10 MAN CUMNOR WIN WITH LAST MINUTE PENALTY
A last minute penalty gave 10 man Cumnor victory in a tense match.
Cumnor came into the game with only 10 fit players. Harri was ill but was dragged out of his bed to fill in the gap at left back. He lasted just till after half time but had to be taken off as he could no longer walk. Didcot are a good team so it was not a game that we wanted to play with ten players.
The game started and Didcot used the big kicks from their goalie to put Cumnor under pressure. Kieren and Wrighty found themselves very busy in the middle of the defence. Jordi made some great runs to relieve pressure on the back four. Harri was doing a great job against a tricky winger but his energy level was nearly zero. Didcot had a couple of shots which were not far away. Joe was doing his best to open some doors on the left and made a great pass to find Freddie. He raced in on goal but was brought down in the box for a cast iron penalty. The referee waved play on.
Bradley had another run but he was well tackled. Fraser made a great run on the right and released a great cross. Unfortunately no-one was on the end of the cross. Robbie had to make a difficult catch but apart from that had little to do.
The first half finished 0-0.
The second half saw Cumnor down to ten men with Bradley up front.
Cumnor still attacked but unfortunately it left gaps at the back. One cross saw the ball hit rebound of Jordi and was cleared by Robbie.
Shaun and Luke were controlling midfield but a few chances came to nothing.
Again another Cumnor attack saw Freddie brought down again in the box. Yet again no penalty.
With minutes to go, Joe controlled the ball in the penalty box. As he was about to turn, his legs were taken from him. At last the referee gave a penalty.
Wrighty wanted to take the penalty. He steadied himself, and fired a great shot into the corner of the net. It was 1-0.
The referee blew the whistle.
Cumnor Minors 1 Didcot 0
A great game. Cumnor overall deserved the victory. Next week hopefully we will have 11 players. Our boys never gave up even though they were obviously undermanned but they never stopped running.
Best of luck to Didcot in the B&B next week.

CUMNOR BEAT BLOXHAM IN THRILLING GAME
The season has given Cumnor no easy games and this week is no exception.
Cumnor visited Bloxham on a wet and windy day. Games between the two sides are always entertaining affairs. Tom B was back to strengthen the Bloxham side.
Cumnor had a full squad with the exception of our long term absentee Tim. During the warm up Alex pulled up with a sore back. It was decided to rest Alex, but Neil still had to do the line with Stuart.
Bradley was back after his injury. Luke W arrived with minutes to spare.
Cumnor started the brighter and they had some early opportunities. Fraser made one of his usual moves up the right hand side. He raced to the byline and crossed but no Cumnor player could get on the end of it. Luke T was marking Tom B. He was doing a great job and was limiting him to long range efforts.
An early Bloxham attack saw Lewis come close but Kieren made a great last gasp tackle. Wrighty broke up another Bloxham attack. He moved the ball out to the left hand side. Harri collected the ball and played a nice pass to Luke W. He made a great pass to the right for Shaun. He moved the ball forward and Freddie raced in on the ball and fired past the Bloxham goalie. It was 1-0.
Another attack saw Joe forced out to the right and he won a corner. Harri took the corner and Luke W flicked the ball into the net. It was 2-0.
Another Harri corner saw Luke T rise above the defence and head the ball into the net. What a goal. 3-0.
At the other end, Robbie made a great save from a fantastic shot. Jordi started the next attack. He found Shaun who released Freddie. He slipped the ball to Joe. He accelerated past his marker and slipped the ball just past the post.
Half time was blown and it was 3-0.
Bloxham came out fighting in the second half. Early efforts saw Robbie make a couple of good saves. Wrighty and Kieren covered each other and kept Bloxham at bay.
Shaun had a shot saved by the goalie. Fraser had another great run stopped by a great tackle from a defender. Cumnor were then awarded a free kick about 25 yards out. Fraser took the free kick and fired the ball over the goalies outstretched hands. It was 4-0.
As is usual against Bloxham, just when the game looks over, they come back into the game with 2 great goals. It was 4-2.
At the other end a great move from Adam saw Luke T set up another attack. A cross from Luke W was met by Bradley who headered it into the back of the net. It was 5-2.
The referee blew his whistle for full time.
BLOXHAM 2 CUMNOR MINORS 5
A great game which was played in a great spirit. Both sets of players are a great advert for boys football. The referee commented after the match that both sides are a credit to their clubs.
Another great performance from Cumner. Next week we play our great rivals Didcot.
