CUMNOR HIT TOP FORM

Cumnor's opponents today were Abingdon. Wayne and Shaun were on holiday and were missing from todays game. Kieren was also missing. Alex was on holiday at Centre Parcs but came back to play today. Otherwise everybody else were available.
Cumnor took the game to Abingdon but were not making many chances. Good passing football was being played by both sides. Luke, playing at centre half, made a couple of early interceptions.
As the game progressed, both sides started to make some chances. Robbie had to be sharp of his line to clear a dangerous ball.
The first goal came when Adam won the ball in midfield. He made a great through pass to Freddie. He carried the ball forward. His first shot was save but he slipped the ball into the net with his second attempt.
Bradley started the next attack. He controlled the ball and hit a great pass to Fraser. He moved into the box and crossed. Alex couldn't rise high enough to head the ball back into the box. Luke made a great pass to Freddie. He beat one player and shot past the goalie. It was 2-0.
Next Wrighty found Jordi. He took the ball forward and fired just past the post.
The move of the first half made it 3-0. Alex gathered the ball in his own half. He moved into the opposing half and fired of a great pass over the top of the defence. Both the goalie and Fraser raced for the ball. Fraser got their first and lobbed the ball over the goalie. A great and brave goal.
It was 3-0 at half time.
Robbie moved to centre half and Luke moved into midfield. Immediately Cumnor stepped up a gear. Joe won the ball in midfield. He slipped the ball to Bradley. He took a couple of steps and hit an unstoppable shot into the back of the net. What a goal.
Then a cross from Fraser was saved by the goalie. Declan was quicker than the goalie. He slipped the ball into the back of the net. It was 5-0.
Bradley made it six with a great opportunist goal. The goalie passed the ball to Bradley and he delivered the ball into the back of the net.
Joe capped a great performance with a great shot from 20 yards. The goalie had no chance.
It was 7-0.
Abingdon pushed forward and Tim had to make a great stop.
Cumnor made some great defence splitting passes. Declan came very close to making it eight but just failed to make a connection with a cross.
The game finished 7-0.

CUMNOR MINORS 7 ABINGDON COLTS 0

A good result against a good side. The first half score flattered Cumnor as they took the chances that came their way. The second half was all Cumnor.
Wayne was halfway down the ski slopes when he heard the score. At last he can now enjoy his holiday. Next week we play Marston.
